Changing - You need to start here

So the question you may be asking yourself is what is Life design?

 

The use of the word has become popular with many people in the self –development or self -improvement world. The next question you may be asking yourself is ‘Why is this important to me?

Well, let me tell you that it is important to you. I do not know anyone that could not do with some help in sorting out once and for all the mess of their mind. Many people’s minds are like a busy motorway junction where all the cars have no traffic lights or brakes, collision after collision. A constant collision of thoughts banging around with no direction or ability to control them!

So life design is;

"How you want to live your life past this very moment. This moment being reading this article now. I mean everything from your daily routine, the time you spend at work, the activities and hobbies you spend your time doing, the holidays or breaks etc etc.

The change of design must come from you, if you are to change your life design then you really need to change how you think before anything else can really become a permeant change. Importantly you need to figure out where you want to go (I don't mean necessarily on holiday or moving to another country) but all is possible.

Many people write about life design and you may have read some of it or alot! we are going to start by thinking about how to improve and change but I want to make you first aware of it and then make you take action by helping you consider what and how the mental decisions yo build can become solid and immovable barriers to you striving for every goal, target and vision you have.

Before you use the parts of this site to give you information that will make you lose weight, become fitter, change your physical appearance or achieve that sporting feet I want to give you a more equal footing to the few people that are built with an innate talent to naturally do many oft these things but may be unconscious they do it.

Consider these words anxiety, fear, anger and worry. Every person I have ever coached it has been these factors that have stopped them in their tracks before they have learnt to overcome them. The problem is that to change how these words affect you then you need to put some energy and effort into yourself first.

The time and energy bit is not difficult but it will take some energy from you and one of the most under used part of your current life. You need to clear some time and slow down to consider and change your mental thought patterns and processes. To conquer and achieve a Life that is designed for you, you must to start here.............

Turn the TV off - Be Present

Yes, I do mean turn your TV off.....for ever, maybe!

Look to continue with the process of change you will need all the help you can get and for one that means try and avoid watching anything that is going to cosy up to your current way of thinking. Misery, pain, suffering and worry. Our media is a great supporter of all of these.

I know because I have been avid reader and follower to the news for all my adult life. The reason was I was brought up with it and thought it the way to a greater level of thinking of the world....maybe it helps you understand certain things but after a while you gain nothing from 99% of it other than maybe entertainment. I use to read a paper everyday (non-tabloid) and listen to the news channels in the car all of the time. It is now restricted to Sunday Times "interesting factual parts' and reading the headlines of the papers at the petrol station. A very difficult habit to break if you enjoy world events.

So what I want to write about in this article is the very simple task of becoming present in every part of the day that you occupy.

That means that you observe your actions at all time and become a person that lives for the exact moment you are in. Now that is fairly difficult if you begin to allow yourself to live in the past or future. This is not a test for future events because I can feel the questions popping up as I write this.

I.e. How can I live in the present when we are in a recession?
